While cutting up a sea slug named Melo melo, the fisherwoman fell from the clouds when she saw a rare pearl the size of a quail’s egg before her astonished eyes.
The 87-carat Melo pearl was valued at more than 10,000 euros, or more than $14,700, by a pearl dealer contacted by the fisherwoman.
As a reminder, in 2010, a 224.30-carat melo pearl sold for $722,500, while the largest melo pearl found to date weighs 412 carats.
