The 2023 cast of Married At First Sight struggled to make ends meet as full-time influencers and seemed significantly less popular than previous alumni.

Former cast members have left the show with huge audiences for their ventures into podcasting, brand sponsorships, and OnlyFans accounts, but this season’s spouses aren’t bringing home the bacon.

Most of the cast of Season 10 of hit series Nine have returned to their previous jobs, with many of their social media followers plateauing after the show aired.

While this year’s lineup has produced some standouts, a source told Yahoo Lifestyle that “the public has moved from reality TV to influencer and isn’t getting involved as much.”

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, the source said, “The last thing people want to see spammed on their news feed is the cast of Married At First Sight flaunting their lifestyle.”

2022’s Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding broke records with their Sit with Us podcast, raking in a $250,000 deal and a sold out merch line.

However, no money has flowed for the MAFS cast of the year 2023-turned-digital content creators as Ollie Skelton, Tahnee Cook and Harrison Boon only run part-time podcasts alongside their day jobs.

Tahnee recently started the Chuffed podcast and is working on growing the audience during her PR work, while Ollie’s Tosser podcast is getting rave reviews but remains a part-time project.

Meanwhile, Sandy Jawanda is back working as a dental hygienist, Tayla Winter is a nurse and Caitlin McConville is reportedly working at Melinda Willis beauty salon, Melly’s.

Whether the show’s next season will bring out more high-earning influencers or whether this trend of returning to the real world will continue remains to be seen.

MAFS Season 11 will feature a diverse cast of participants including a public relations professional, personal trainer, wedding guest, professional kickboxer and nutrition coach.

It will also feature the show’s “oldest groom ever”: a 62-year-old motivational speaker.
