Sporting Cristal’s agonizing and emotional 1-0 win over Deportivo Municipal was the subject of a questionable arbitration. The Brewers defeated the Aediles with a last-minute goal Yoshimar Yotun, who was criticized for committing a serious foul early in the second half and not being sent off. This lawsuit was contested by the National Referees Committee (Conar)indicating that “Yoshi” should have seen a red card for that strong tackle.
With a didactic video, Conar reviewed the Río captain’s foul against Alberto Ampuero and explained what had to be done from the video arbitration: “In minute 48, the referee only penalizes a simple foul. Player ’35’, who plays the ball correctly, receives a heavy tackle from light blue player 19, who hits him on the inside of his right leg with the pegs of his shoe, endangering the physical integrity of his opponent.”

With that victory, the Light Blues picked up 24 points in the final tournament of Liga 1 and put themselves ahead of Universitario de Deportes and Alianza Lima by three and seven respectively.
