A couple from Boston, USA, are at risk of having their wedding planned for August 31 in Italy fall through after their dog completely devoured the groom’s passport.
Ten days before their wedding, Donato Frattaroli and his fiancée Magda Mazri were unpleasantly surprised when their dog “Chickie” devoured one of their passports, the barcode of which was torn.
“All the important pages with his personal information, his photo page and the barcode of his passport were torn out,” Magda Mazretti told US broadcaster NBC Boston.
Rushing onto the stretchers, the couple raced against time to obtain a new passport while flying to Italy on Friday to complete the final preparations for the wedding.
“I don’t even allow myself to think of plan B. We’re going to Italy on Friday anyway,” said Ms Mazri, who says her couple doesn’t want to give up and is trying to stay positive nonetheless.
The American couple’s misadventure is reminiscent of the story of Quebecer Frédérik Houle, who found her passport devoured by her dog in August 2022, 36 hours before she left on vacation to Hawaii.
