First photos from the reboot of the popular comedy series Frasier show Nicholas Lyndhurst having a beer with Kelsey Grammer.
The 62-year-old “Only Fools and Horses” star will play Alan Cornwall, Frasier’s old college friend and now university professor.
The show’s first snaps show Nicholas and Kelsey in a bar with new character Olivia, played by Toks Olagundoye, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department.
Kelsey and Nicholas are friends in real life after starring together in the 2019 West End production of The Man from La Mancha.
Nicholas has endured a difficult few years after losing his son Archie to a brain hemorrhage at the age of 19.

It was then claimed that he was considering retiring from acting following the tragic loss.
At the time, the actor’s close friend, writer Laurence Marks, said Nicholas might not return to public life after his heartbreak, which the actor’s camp called “ridiculous”.

The 10-episode Paramount+ reboot of the US sitcom and Cheers spin-off is scheduled to air October 12.

Freddy is described as a mix between his father and grandfather Marty Crane, a role played by John Mahoney, who died of complications from throat cancer in 2019 at the age of 77.

Paramount+ confirmed the February 2021 reboot was in development, with Kelsey announcing last July that scripting was underway.
