Simon Cowell looks carefree as he leaves the ‘America’s Got Talent’ studio after selling his Holland Park mansion for £15million

Simon Cowell was in good spirits as he headed home Wednesday after a day of filming America’s Got Talent in Los Angeles.

The 63-year-old music mogul waved to fans as he exited the Pasadena Civic Auditorium while rolling down the car window to say goodbye to them.

The TV judge looked smart in his white shirt, unbuttoned as usual to reveal his chest, and gray suit trousers.

The star was in California to film the results of the first qualifying round alongside fellow judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofía Vergara.

Simon’s appearance comes after it was revealed on Wednesday that he has sold his home in Holland Park for £15million after he was desperate to leave London.

The X Factor star was desperate to leave the capital after a series of troubles at the massive estate.

These included home break-ins by two burglars – one of whom stole a million pounds’ worth of jewelry – and even flooding two years ago.

Just a few months ago it was alleged that a criminal gang had sold the very lock on his front door, which horrified him.

The sale price was revealed yesterday by a specialist property lender, who said they had also arranged a £5.5million loan for the new buyer, whose identity is unknown.

Cowell bought the property 16 years ago but decided to leave after reorganizing his life and business and packing his bags to move to the Oxford countryside.

In 2020 he handed over sole control of his record label Syco Music to Sony, which later closed it.

Meanwhile, Syco Entertainment, the television company that produced The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent (BGT), no longer has offices in the UK and has radically downsized its production.

Today it is an entertainment assets and licensing company while BGT is manufactured by Thames.

After starting out as a record company executive and finding success with singing actors Robson Green and Jerome Flynn, he rose to fame in 2001 as a judge on the ITV show Pop Idol.

The Georgian property is located in one of London’s most exclusive areas, where celebrity neighbors such as Ed Sheeran and David Beckham reside.

The buyer had to use a specialist real estate lender called Cohort Capital to get financing to secure the home.

Matt Thame, Founder of Cohort Capital said: “In the current turbulent market conditions, time is of the essence in the luxury real estate sector more than ever and we are delighted to have been able to close this deal in less than a week.”

“Our industry expertise has proven to be a critical factor for our clients as we understand the importance of speed, reliability and flexibility in securing financing.”

Simon reportedly continues to distance himself from his famous friends — with the exception of Amanda Holden, whose husband Chris Hughes signed him to talent agency YMU last year

While he’s still a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, Simon has no other TV commitments and wants to spend more time with his nine-year-old son Eric, who he shares with fiancé Lauren Silverman.

A source told Mail On Sunday: “It’s like Simon has completely changed the direction of his travels.”

“Once he was so keen on being in the paper that he could hardly walk without it making the front page of the tabloids. Now he’s disappeared into oblivion – he doesn’t even reveal where he lives anymore.

“He’s wanted to be talked about and written about, but all of a sudden he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight anymore.” He just wants to be at home with Eric while Lauren takes care of the rest of his business.”
