The sign is applied to the tanks of Russian military tanks and trucks. But what does the white letter Z stand for? Explanations.

White letter Z, drawn with white chalk on Russian military tanks and trucks: this is a sign of the Russian offensive in Ukraine. From now on, it is worn at Russian rallies for military intervention in Ukraine, as well as in schools, against the backdrop of patriotic songs. This white Z also appears on the T-shirt of a young Russian athlete at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Qatar.

On social media, the letter Z has become a pro-Putin political message. The Russian Ministry of Defense made it the slogan: “Z of Victory”. However, no official explanation of the meaning of this inscription on Russian tanks was given. Military experts believe that the letters painted on the trucks indicate the geographical origin of the soldiers. Thus, Z can mean “west”, “west” in Russian. Be that as it may, this sign has become the emblem of Russian nationalism.
