“We talked to each other every week. I spoke to him myself in the last week of June. He looked tired. He had asked the newspaper for a few weeks’ leave,” Réjean Tremblay said on LCN, adding that he had, however, had a conflicting conversation with Yvon Pedneault last month.

For Réjean Tremblay, the 77-year-old was an “old comrade-in-arms” who had a true love of ice hockey.

“That means something: Hall of Famer. It means years, it means a deep love for hockey, it means that all international hockey players respected him,” he said, nicknamed his friend “the Templar.”[lerespectait»at-ilmentionnéluiquisurnommaitsonami«letemplier»[lerespectait»a-t-ilmentionnéluiquisurnommaitsonami«letemplier»
