Delivery of relief supplies to families affected by rain in Venezuela

From the Las Quintas sector, in the municipality of La Esperanza, Mayor Carmen Meléndez was present this Sunday along with a work team to bring mattresses, linens, furniture, bathroom parts, kitchens and other essential goods, according to what was posted on his social media -Account @gestionperfecta.

“In particular, we visited families in vulnerable situations and listened to their wishes and suggestions. We have also been touring the area with the community and observing the infrastructure and care needs in general,” he wrote.

This weekend, heavy hurricane rains downed oak, cypress, jabillos and other trees that fell on vehicles and homes, while the streets of these communities were flooded.

According to Venezolana de Televisión, the mayor’s office has implemented a plan to clean up the damage and support families, as well as to clean up the affected areas.

“We strive to reshape them for the benefit of the entire community. So they asked us and we will follow them,” Meléndez said.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology is forecasting rains of varying intensities, electrical discharges and possible gusts of wind this Sunday.

The heavy rains are expected to hit the states of Delta Amacuro, North Bolívar, Northeast and South Aragua, the Central and West Plains, the Andes and Zulia.
