Kristen Bell shares a note left by her 10-year-old daughter Lincoln, in which she “caught” a “fish” in the shower drain…when it was actually a ball of hair

Kristen Bell shared how “cute” her family was in an Instagram video on Sunday, with a note from her daughter Lincoln, 10, and husband Dax Shephard.

The 43-year-old actress, who made headlines for allowing her young daughters to drink non-alcoholic beer, shared a short video of her son and husband claiming they somehow caught a “fish” in the shower drain .

As it turns out, the “fish” were actually two rather large hairballs that they pulled out of the drain.

Bell captioned the post, “How generous,” which racked up over 73,000 likes in just over nine hours of its publication.

The actress wore a navy sweatshirt in the video, which she posted in the bathroom, and glanced at the precocious 10-year-old’s note.

“Look how sweet my family is. They left me a note in my sink,” Bell said while pointing her phone camera at the mirror, before showing the note to her 15.6 million followers that read, “To Mom, from Lincoln and Dad.”

“It says, ‘Dear Mom. My dad and I went fishing in the shower drain and dad caught a fish and I caught a minnow,” Bell began.

“I know you love fish, so my dad and I will give them to you.” “Sincerely, Lincoln,” she finished, before lifting the note to show the “fish”—two rather large tufts of hair.

She zoomed in on the larger and then the smaller “minnow,” both of which were on a dry-cleaner’s hanger.

“Absolutely disgusting,” Bell concluded at the end of the hilarious video.

Bell made headlines earlier this month when it was revealed she allowed Lincoln and her younger daughter, eight-year-old Delta, to drink non-alcoholic beer.

Back in July, Bell appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and revealed that her husband Dax Shepard – a recovering alcoholic – drinks non-alcoholic beer and that she would eventually let them try it.

“She would scratch at it as a baby, and sometimes suck on the edge of it. I think it feels like something special to them, something dad, something family,” Bell explained.

She added, “We’ve been to restaurants where she’s been like, ‘Do you have non-alcoholic beer?’ and I’m thinking … maybe we’ll just keep that for home.”

“But then I’m like that too, you can judge me if you want, I’m not doing anything wrong.” As if that’s your problem,” Bell added.

The interview prompted some criticism of her and Dax’s “parenting style,” though she revealed on her husband’s armchair quarterback podcast that she’s not worried about the backlash.

“What’s so sweet about you to me is that you’re so logical, factual, and evidence-based — but if people want to be angry about something, they’re going to be angry about it,” Bell said.

“When they tried to order [non-alcoholic beers] “In a restaurant or something, that’s because of a very specific connection to you,” she told Dax on his Aug. 14 episode.

“Because first of all they’re educated on addiction and what substances are and how they affect the body, how scary they are and what they can do to you,” she said, citing her husband’s past struggles with addiction.
