Lana was hospitalized in a UPA at the end of July to treat a urinary tract infection and a bacterium found in her system, and was subsequently transferred to Hospital Alcides Carneiro in Petrópolis, in the Serra do Rio de Janeiro region. where the artist lived.
“The Autonomous Social Service Alcides Carneiro Hospital (Sehac) announces that the patient Irlan Figueiredo Passos, singer Lana Bittencourt, died this Monday (28) at 17:30 in the Intensive Care Unit (CTI) of the Hospital Alcides Carneiro. The artist, who was 91, had been admitted to the station since July 28. Hospital management is awaiting approval from the family to release details of the cause of death,” the hospital said.
There is still no information about the wake and the artist’s funeral.

Born on February 5, 1932, the artist rose to prominence in the 1950s, during the socalled “Golden Age of Radio” in Brazil. One of her big hits was the song “If Every Were Equal To You” by Tom Jobim. Lana earned the nickname “The International” because she sang in multiple languages.
As an actress, she also took part in important works alongside Mazzaropi. He starred in Chofer de Praça, Jeca Tatu and As Aventuras de Pedro Malasartes.
