Fatal accident in Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel: shock wave at the National Police Academy – Le Nouvelliste

“It was a shock this morning,” admits ENPQ spokeswoman Véronique Brunet, speaking about the employee who has been with the company for more than 26 years and is responsible for the vehicle fleet.

“She was working at a hotspot and saw several school staff and aspirants walking by. She was a support here,” adds the communications manager.

“It’s a great loss to our organization because he was a well-known person who had been here for a very long time.”

Numerous measures were taken throughout the day to support those affected by his sudden departure, including the provision of psychological support.

“Personal meetings with people who were known to be very close to Ms. Lacourse came very quickly,” says Véronique Brunet. We also arranged for the company of some people who seemed rather shaken to us.

In addition, there were several small touches throughout the day to support staff, including a speech from the Director General and a meditation in the school’s courtyard.

“It allowed everyone to come together and talk. It was also possible to re-emphasize all the services offered in the field of psychological support, because it comes as a shock,” adds the spokeswoman, who is herself emotional.

“We are committed to taking care of people and that no one feels abandoned now, but also in the coming days and weeks, because of course the reactions can come a little later.”
