After an operation to remove a tumor in her intestines, Gilberto Gil’s daughter announced on the 22nd in a video published on her social networks that her body was free of cancer cells. She also left the intensive care unit at the SírioLibanês Hospital in São Paulo, where she underwent surgery, and thanked the team that cared for her.
“My dear ones, I have waited so long for this day to be able to come here and talk to you. Last week I had surgery to remove my tumor from my rectum and this surgery was very successful, complex and large. Only yesterday we had the final result because the material was subjected to pathological analysis. And the result came that yes, my body is free of cancer cells. The operation was a success, we had a complete removal of the tumor with a margin. And that means that in the moment my body is freed of these cells, healing is a process.
