Angeles Bejar, who had been holed up in the Divina Pastora church in Motril, southern Spain, since Monday to protest against the “harassment” her son was being subjected to, said she was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon by emergency services who took her to the hospital Antonio Rodríguez, the parish priest, announced to the press in front of the church.

“I have to tell you that she had a seizure and we had to rush her to the hospital. She is no longer here,” the priest explained, adding that Angeles Bejar “was tired and had many (health) problems and not just anemia.”

According to her niece Vanessa Ruiz Bejar, Luis Rubiales’ cousin, Luis Rubiales’ mother promised to remain locked up in that church until Jenni Hermoso, the player her son unexpectedly kissed on the mouth, “discovered the truth” about the incident incident says.

“This harassment is not fair. His mother, who is very religious, found refuge in God. She has started a hunger strike and does not want to leave the church,” she said on Monday on the doorstep of the Divina Pastor church in Motril, the town where Luis Rubiales grew up.

When contacted by AFP, Motril Hospital did not confirm that she was among the patients.
