Office towers in downtown Montreal are emptying as people switch to telecommuting. However, this situation opens the door to a new market in the region.

The emergence of this phenomenon led two entrepreneurs, Jean-Philippe Blais and Julie Houde, to create the “Partout chez nous” platform, which makes their expertise available to grant “telework” certification to a chalet or country estate.
Allocation is based on the accommodation’s capacity to provide everything a teleworker needs.
“Jean-Philippe and I also rent chalets. We experimented a lot with it and found it difficult to do the research, and when we arrived at the accommodation, the internet was often not up to standard, we had no space to work, we had no landmarks,” said Julie Houde, in an interview with LCN.
The platform also guides workers to tourist residences that they can rent to carry out their work in nature, while reassuring them that they will not have any problems with their internet connection, for example.
“A Wi-Fi connection is not necessarily suitable for a workplace. If there are ten or two of you on site, we can quantify the number of people who can take part in a video conference on site,” mentions Jean-Philippe Blais.
