The premise and title are puzzling. A baby is found abandoned in the forest of a small village. This excellent series by Xavier Dolan, first shown on Club illico and adapted from a play by Michel Marc Bouchard, makes the jump to the public broadcaster and proves to be a must-see. Dolan has put all his talent into five dense episodes and a complex plot that is revealed in detail. The dialogues are powerful. The production with the help of cameraman André Turpin is sophisticated and leaves room for great images. The actors are very precise. Mireille (Julie Le Breton) reappears in her hometown, 30 years after she left it. As a thanatologist, she comes to embalm her mother (Anne Dorval). She sees her brothers (Éric Bruneau and Xavier Dolan) again, including Julien (Patrick Hivon), with whom she was very close. With Laurier (Pier-Gabriel Lajoie), she and Julien formed an inseparable trio until things changed that night.
