(CNN) – According to his official website and several media outlets, singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has died at the age of 76.
“Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song until his last breath and will be missed by many,” the posts read.
The cause of death was not revealed.
The singer was hospitalized and had to postpone a concert in May, CNN previously reported. He did not explain exactly what he was suffering from at the time, but promised to offer the postponed concert as soon as possible.
