NCAA: Son of NFL legend breaks university record

The son of former NFL star Deion Sanders, Shedeur set the bar high in his first start for the University of Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday with a 45-42 victory over the University of Texas Horned Frogs Christian (TCU).

The quarterback had a blistering performance in the matchup, amassing an impressive 510 total passing yards, which is a team record.

He also scored four touchdowns and completed 38 of his 47 passes.

The 21-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Jackson State University Tigers before moving to the University of Colorado in December 2022.

The father was also in his first game at the helm for the Buffaloes. The former cornerback led the Jackson State University program for the past two seasons. Last year, Sanders led the Tigers to a perfect season (12-0).
