In an interview with Véronique Lauzon on LCN, the trained lawyer spoke about the reasons that led her to take part in the race.
His father, Paul Shoiry, still works in local politics as an adviser to the city of Quebec.
“Of course I fell for it as a child, because my father is very involved in local politics […] “I’m still interested in politics, but I would say even more interested in getting involved in society,” she emphasizes.
With her experience in the community sector, particularly with her “Empty your bag” project, Ms Shoiry believes she has what it takes to win.
“I am a dedicated girl, I am a girl at heart and I like helping people. I like taking care of people. I am committed to being there for them, it would truly be an honor to represent them in the National Assembly,” she added.
Ms. Shoiry’s candidacy was officially announced during a press conference on Tuesday, accompanied by François Legault.
