AEW has had enough of CM Punk, so much so that the star wrestler was fired on Saturday.
The organization has officially terminated its contract with the two-time AEW champion, a week after another incident of misconduct outside the ring.
CM Punk, real name Phil Brooks, got into a physical altercation with fellow AEW star Jack Perry before their fight at London’s Wembley Stadium last Sunday.
“The dismissal follows a week-long internal investigation into an August 27 incident. “Following the investigation, the AEW Disciplinary Committee met with outside legal counsel before unanimously recommending that Tony Khan (the CEO of AEW) fire CM Punk with cause,” AEW said in a statement.
