Wilfried Nancy couldn’t have asked for a better scenario for his return to Montreal as his team, the Columbus Crew, easily defeated CF Montreal 4-2 at the Stade Saputo on Saturday evening.
However, it was Crew forward Cucho Hernandez who caught the attention on the night with a three-goal performance.

In addition to Nancy, central defender Rudy Camacho, who was transferred to Columbus on July 31, also found his former teammates from Montreal again for the first time. The 32-year-old guard spent five and a half seasons in the Quebec metropolis.
At the start of the game the guests were lucky. CF Montreal defender Gabriele Corbo shot into his own net as he attempted to deflect a cross, but it ended up in the back of the net, allowing the Crew to score their first goal of the game.
Eight minutes later, the Ohio team doubled its lead. Cucho Hernandez completed a great move set up by Diego Rossi. He made an excellent cross that allowed Hernandez to thread the ball in.
As if that wasn’t enough, Hernandez dealt the home team a serious blow before the end of the first half. The Colombian redirected Yaw Yeboah’s pass and scored his second goal of the duel in the 43rd minute.
Hernan Losada’s men moved the needle twice more in the second half. Kwadwo Opoku and Jules-Anthony Vilsaint gave their best in the duel.
However, Hernandez delivered the final blow to the locals when he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 65th minute of the game.
Despite this setback, the Bleu-Blanc-Noir have a record of 11-15-2 and are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. In addition, the team is 10 points behind its last opponent.
The Montreal team also suffered its fourth defeat at home in 13 games this season.
Montreal will return to action on its turf on Saturday against Chicago Fire, who lost 4-0 to DC United on Saturday night.
