Germany: Ukrainian child thrown over bridge

A Russian man, visibly frustrated at seeing a 10-year-old Ukrainian child who did not speak Russian, allegedly threw him over a bridge in the central German town of Einbeck on Saturday.

The attack is said to have occurred on a bridge over the Mühlenkanal in Germany. Several Ukrainian children were playing together when a passerby complained about hearing them speak in Ukrainian, German newspaper Bild reported.

At that moment, the as-yet-unidentified person reportedly criticized her for not speaking Russian before declaring that “Ukraine started the war.”

The man allegedly grabbed one of the girls by the hair before attacking the boy and throwing him over the bridge to the canal.

According to the German newspaper, the child was seriously injured in the head and left foot after hitting a metal beam.

The attacker eventually fled after the children who witnessed the incident called their parents.

Local police have still not found the man in his 40s.
