A new report has just come out about the Pixel 8 family, revealing European storage options and their respective prices. We also get the color options. The bad news, however, is that the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will likely be more expensive than their predecessors.
The price increase is of course quite significant if you stick to the source. The Pixel 8 with 128GB storage costs 874 euros with 23% VAT, while the 256GB variant costs 949 euros. When it was introduced, the Pixel 7 cost from 650 euros. The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to launch at €1,235 for just 128GB of storage, with the 256GB version asking €1,309. For the 512 GB model you pay an even higher price of 1,461 euros. For reference: The Pixel 7 Pro cost 900 euros.
To be honest, these price increases seem a bit absurd, which is why we view these conclusions with a healthy dose of skepticism.
The information about the color options, however, seems trustworthy. The small Pixel will be available in Hazel, Obsidian, Rose and Mint colors, while the Pro model will be painted in Bay, Obsidian, Porcelain and Mint colors.
Some recent rumors surrounding the duo suggest that Google is preparing a Night Sight video to complement Night Sight for photos. So it will be interesting to see what Google does with it. Rumors that the phones would only come with an eSIM card turned out to be false, so the physical SIM card tray remains for now.
