A North Korea conducted a simulated “tactical nuclear strike” exercise that included two Longrange cruise missilesState media reported on Sunday (3) as President Kim Jongun inspected shipbuilding and ammunition factories.
North Korean state television KRT reported that the exercise was held early Saturday to “warn enemies” that the country was prepared in the event of a nuclear war, while Pyongyang renewed pledges to strengthen military deterrence against Washington and Seoul.
The two cruise missiles, carrying simulated nuclear warheads, were fired into the peninsula’s Western Sea and flew 1,500 km at an altitude of 150 m.
In a separate report, KCNA news agency published photos of Kim and said he visited the Pukjung Machinery Complex, which produces ship engines, and a large ammunition factory to highlight the importance of strengthening Pyongyang’s naval forces.
