João Guilherme speaks out on crop top controversy: ‘Appreciate my body’

at a fashion event in Paris.
“Fashion is a way to express yourself, to tell a story, to tell a little bit about yourself,” he reflected.
Due to the implications of the look he chose, the artist decided to go one step further and pay no attention to the comments. “If your look hasn’t generated comments, it doesn’t have any bias, is it really a look? I read that on Twitter and thought.”
For him, fashion goes beyond clothing. “The famous expression: When you dress comfortably, even if it’s a short outfit that I like because I feel it flatters my body, or a very loose outfit that fits me better. It’s about looking good,” he explained.
“And I’ve seen people say what’s beautiful and what’s ugly? Who says what’s right and what’s wrong? I just think you have to have the freedom and look at clothes with more sensitivity,” concluded João Guilherme.
