(CNN Spanish) – The Jalisco prosecutor’s office reported Sunday that it had opened an investigation into the death of Juan Carlos Sauceda, known in the world of Mexican rap as Lefty SM.
In the official bulletin, the agency states that on Saturday evening three people entered a house in Zapopan and, without saying a word, forcibly took the singer away to remove him from the house.
When they failed to do so, they shot him and later fled the scene, the statement added.
Prosecutors reported that Sauceda was treated at a private hospital, where he died early this Sunday from gunshot wounds to the right leg and stomach.
The record label Alzada issued a statement of mourning over the death and expressed solidarity with the singer’s family.
