“What a disaster”: Major power outage during a beach club show – Le Journal de Montréal

On Saturday, the beach club in Pointe-Calumet experienced a major power outage in the middle of a show by artist Meduza, caused by a confetti throw that damaged electrical wiring.

The owner of the restaurant, Olivier Primeau, reported this in a video published on his Instagram account on Saturday.

“In the middle of the show we threw some kind of confetti that fell on a hydroelectric line for the first time in eight years and knocked out all the power,” he said. I’m really embarrassed.”

Although he indicated in his video that the outage affected multiple sectors of Pointe-Calumet, the businessman has since clarified that only the beach club was affected.

“Not everyone who pays or has an outstanding bill at the beach club can pay,” adds Mr. Primeau. It’s been half an hour, Meduza was on the track. It’s a fucking disaster.”

The power outage interrupted the Meduza show on Saturday, but the show scheduled for Sunday went on as planned.

Electronic music fans who had a ticket for the previous day’s shows had free access to the site on Sunday.
