Baseball: Three Grand Slams… in the same week!

Royce Lewis has found a great strategy for making a name for himself in Major League Baseball: hit hard, often and at the right time.

The 24-year-old infielder has been helping the Minnesota Twins since returning from an injury on August 15th. He also has a full week since he achieved his third Grand Slam in eight days on Monday.

Lewis hit bases-loaded home runs last Monday and Tuesday against the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Guardians, respectively. He then became the first Twins rookie player to achieve such a feat.

The Californian added even more against Cleveland, hitting a long ball at the expense of Lucas Giolito. Quebec’s Édouard Julien crossed the record thanks to Lewis’ eleventh lap of the season.

The latter seems to be showing some glimpses of his great potential, as he was the very first pick in the 2017 draft. His batting average has risen to .315 and he has scored 37 points this year.

After three innings, the Twins led 9-0.
