But sometimes the rich and famous show that they are just like us ordinary people and trade in their lavish luxuries for more modest habits.
On Tuesday night, as stars flocked to the National Television Awards at the O2 Stadium, several big names opted to use the Tube rather than battle heavy traffic.
Piers Morgan revealed on Instagram that he took the tube to the ceremony for the first time in 30 years.
The 58-year-old TV presenter looked like a fish out of water as he grimaced while riding in the crowded carriage with his TalkTV colleagues.

Lizzie Cundy also opted to take public transport to the event and also shared a photo of herself riding the subway in all her glory.
The 55-year-old TV personality looked lovely in a red off-the-shoulder dress, but revealed she was forced to change her outfit at the last minute after the zipper on her first dress broke.
She wrote under the snapshot: “I’m burning hot!!” The zipper is broken… but luckily I had another dress. Phew! Only way to travel. See you soon, NTAs!!
She also added on her Instagram Stories: “Quick change on the tube… like you!”
Another celebrity who swapped luxury transportation for the subway was Vanessa Feltz, who sat alone on her trip.
The 61-year-old presenter stood out in her sparkling pink ball gown as she headed home from the awards night.
Vanessa looked at her phone as she sat on the half-empty tube cart after stunning on the red carpet hours earlier.

She shared a video on her Instagram of herself preparing for the train and wrote: “Taking the subway home in a dress!” Much faster.
Panning the camera down to show off her attention-grabbing outfit, she told her followers: “And the quickest way from the O2 home to where I live is the Jubilee line.” And yes, full ball gown and yes, to the U -Get on the train.’
And it wasn’t just TV stars who decided to travel by public transport, several influencers also chose the subway.
Love Island star Mal Nicol shared a video of herself ditching her daring green look in the train station while waiting for a train.
At the awards ceremony, she drew attention to herself in a very revealing outfit: She wore a metallic green bikini top that barely covered her ample cleavage.
She paired it with a matching mini skirt and added green fur boots, a matching muff and a voluminous fur hat as well as army print gloves.
At the station, Mal took the opportunity to change into something more comfortable while her friend filmed her.
The video’s title read: “The only dear islander moving in the middle of a busy subway station at 11pm.”

It was a “what if” night for Alison Hammond and her flagship show This Morning, but it was business as usual for Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly at the NTAs.
Under the lights of London’s O2 Arena, it was Ant and Dec who won their 22nd NTA at the annual ceremony after their successful return to the Australian jungle with ITV1 juggernaut I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here !
The pair took home the award ahead of much-loved Alison, particularly her This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby in the Best Presenter category.
Meanwhile, This Morning lost its title as best daytime show as The Repair Shop won the award.
This comes as the ITV morning program, which has been on a winning streak in the daytime category in recent years, continues to face backlash amid the uproar surrounding the Phillip Schofield affair.
Repair Shop host Jay Blades encouraged the crowd to cheer as the show’s team took the stage at the O2 and took a photo of the moment, noting it was a “rarity” for them to win the award would have.
Jay thanked the voters and the team behind the show, adding: “I want to pay my respects to my experts, they are my family.”
He also praised his fellow nominees on This Morning, The Chase and Loose Women, saying: “We’re the new kids on the block and I’m glad we won this time.”

Ant and Dec – who also competed for best presenter with Martin Lewis, Claudia Winkleman and Bradley Walsh – admitted they were “more nervous than ever” before heading to the event on Tuesday night, but were equally “humbled and grateful “ the honor of the reception like never before.
Ant said: “Thank you to the NTAs, we have quite a long thank you list, to all the shows and the people we work with. We are the luckiest two men on television because we have the best production.” “We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
His presenter Declan Donnelly added: “Thank you to ITV, to Kevin and Katie and the whole team at ITV for your continued support. “Thank you to our fantastic management team for your support, thank you very much, you’re in trouble somewhere .
“Many thanks to our lovely wives, our wonderful children. I can’t believe we’re still getting away with this…’

Ant added: “We’ll keep going as long as you want.”
The actress looked genuinely stunned as she took to the stage after portraying brain tumor victim Lola Pearce-Brown. In her final days she received the award ahead of Emmerdale’s Dominic Brunt and Coronation Street stars Charlotte Jordan and Maureen Lipman.
The actress accepted the award from Michelle Collins, who excitedly shouted “yes” as she read out Danielle’s name, saying: “I literally… I really didn’t prepare anything, I thought this is the biggest one , biggest, biggest shock and.” I can’t believe I’m standing outside the O2.
“I just want to say to literally every single person who contributed to this story and the research: Guys, this is for you.”
“Please give money to Brain Tumor Research UK, they need it so badly they really need it.”
She added: “I just want to say a quick thank you to the whole cast and Chris and everyone who has supported me, Julia Crampsie for getting me on the show, guys I love you so much, without your support I couldn’t don’t do that.’Thank you very much.’

Earlier in the evening, the TV interview honor went to The Graham Norton Show, but unlike its competitors Louis Theroux, Piers Morgan and Chris and Rosie Ramsay, the presenter was not present at the ceremony to accept the award in person
The Traitors won the reality competition award, while the third season of “Happy Valley” took home the “Returning Drama” award.
The first prize of the evening, the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, was presented to Gogglebox.
Happy Valley also triumphed on the night: the show won in the Recurring Drama category, while actress Sarah Lancashire won the award for Best Drama Performance.
The actress beat off tough competition from her co-star James Norton, Queen Charlotte’s India Amarteifio, Vera’s Brenda Blethyn and Call The Midwife’s Judy Parfitt to secure the award.
As she accepted the award on stage, she said: “Thank you so much for that.” I loved every scene, every moment of Happy Valley and know I will never forget it.
She praised creator Sally Wainwright, saying that she is “what Happy Valley is all about” and that if you understand her words, you are the “happiest actor in the world.”

Elsewhere, This Is England actress Vicky McClure said she was “shaking” during Our Dementia Choir’s performance at the annual event.
McClure, 40, the choir’s founder, spoke live at the NTAs and said: “I’m shaking with the pride I feel right now watching our dementia choir play at the O2.”
She added: “Our mission is to share knowledge, raise awareness and support research to help find a cure, but also to remind everyone that with the right heart and mind you can can really change people’s lives for the better.”
Joel Dommett opened the proceedings on Tuesday, telling the audience: “My wife is actually nine months pregnant, her due date is basically now.”
He joked that if his partner Hannah Cooper goes into labor, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be on hand to take her to hospital.
Gogglebox won the evening’s first prize, the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.
The reality TV series beat The Masked Singer and Ant and Dec, who were nominated for two of their shows: I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway.
