Louis T: A joke at TVA Sports and PKP resulted in him losing a contract – DansLesCoulisses

The Quebecor Group is a major player in Quebec’s media landscape. Whether with TVA, with LCN, with the Journal de Montréal, with TVA Sports or with their many other channels, Quebecor takes space.

Of course there are warning signs, but the group has still managed to establish itself at such a level. That is remarkable.

However, with so many tentacles, it’s pretty easy to get blocked by several of their branches if you make the slightest mishap with one of them. Talk to comedian Louis T, who took part in the show “Le monde à l’envers” (TVA) last winter.

The comedian was present on the show at the beginning of the season, but has not been seen since mid-February. He disappeared somewhat mysteriously and silently.

However, during his appearance on the program In the Media (Télé-Québec), Louis T revealed the reasons for his departure: it was a joke at PKP and at TVA Sports that led to him losing his contract.

Essentially, after the major layoffs at TVA Sports were announced in mid-February, the comedian made a joke related to PKP’s comments informally blaming Radio-Canada for the cuts.

So he took the opportunity to laugh a little at their reaction, making it clear that he wasn’t laughing at the layoffs, something he wouldn’t dare do. The publication is still online.

Then he received a call from Quebecor that made him realize that he had offended people. He was “put on hold”…and we didn’t see him again all season.

I don’t know about you, but given the facts he was accused of, I find the reaction a bit drastic. If he had been an important face at Quebecor, the reality would have been different, but we are talking about a debate show employee here.

You know, debates, that thing where everyone expresses their point of view to exchange ideas (and ideally respect each other’s point of view)? Apparently Louis T’s position on this issue was not really respected.

I can understand that people didn’t necessarily like Quebecor, but was it necessary to revoke his contract? You have to tell me.
