Weather in Quebec: The heat episode is coming to an end –

Although it will still be hot on Thursday, the heat episode is coming to an end with the emergence of a frontal system that will gradually cross Quebec.

Showers are already expected in western Quebec during the day on Thursday, especially in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Outaouais, where it will still be 26 degrees with a humidex effect before the mercury drops on Friday.

In the Greater Montreal area, where hot weather still prevails, the sunny weather will become more cloudy in the afternoon, with a 60% chance of showers and the risk of thunderstorms with temperatures of 30 degrees, accompanied by a humidex of 39.

A similar scenario is expected for the central and eastern parts of the province, with a change of sun and clouds and the risk of showers, all under a slightly declining mercury temperature, Environment Canada said.

In Quebec and Sherbrooke the weather will still be hot and humid with temperatures of 29 degrees and humidity of 38, but the mercury is expected to drop due to the onset of a low pressure system.

Quebec’s eastern regions will be spared from the heat wave, while maximum temperatures will not exceed 22 degrees in places, particularly on the north coast, according to federal agency forecasts.
