According to Ukrainian sources, Russia attacked the area around the Danube port of Izmail for the fourth time in five days. The three-hour nightly attacks damaged civil and port infrastructure, as well as an elevator and an administrative building, Odessa regional governor Oleg Kiper said today via Telegram. A truck driver was slightly injured in the leg.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 33 Russian drones were fired overnight, most of them over the Odessa region, in the south of the country. 25 drones were destroyed.
Important export port for Ukrainian grain
The Danube port of Izmail, not far from the border with Romania, has become one of the most important export ports for Ukrainian grain since Russia abandoned the grain deal in July. The agreement allowed Ukraine to transport grain across the Black Sea despite the war. Since the withdrawal, Moscow has increasingly attacked Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Black Sea and Danube.
Romania calls for “urgent investigation”
Romanian President Klaus Johannis called for an “urgent investigation” of wreckage found on Romanian territory, not far from the port of Izmail, following an attack on Ukraine. If it were confirmed that the debris came from a Russian drone, it would be “totally unacceptable and a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Romania, a NATO ally,” Johannis said.
NATO: There is no evidence of intentional bombing
NATO claims to have no evidence of intentional bombings. There is no information in this regard, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg before the EU Parliament. “We are awaiting the results of the ongoing investigation.”
Russia: Drones shot down in Moscow and Rostov

In Rostov-on-Don, a person was injured in the city center by the debris of a downed drone, but did not need to go to the hospital, as Rostov governor Vasily Golubev wrote in Telegram. Additionally, facades and windows of houses and cars were damaged.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote on Telegram that a drone was shot down in a neighborhood of the capital. No injuries or damage were reported.
