This beautiful, large brown dog with a graying muzzle, about 11 years old, was found as a stray and never reclaimed.
His past is unknown, but the shelter’s medical team determined he likely suffered from several long-standing, untreated health problems. Living with a loving family, even temporarily, will benefit him the most.

His difficulty getting around and his deafness don’t stop his desire to go out and sniff everything that comes his way.
He also walks very well on a leash without pulling and follows his human enthusiastically. An old hand! But you have to respect your own pace and pay attention to your needs and boundaries.

Hagrid needs to receive medical attention and be able to rest in a peaceful and warm environment. The necessary treatments will be explained in detail to the host family.
One of Hagrid’s wonderful characteristics is that he gets along very well with his peers. Even the grumpiest dogs appreciate his presence!
Maybe they believe Hagrid is a wise old man who can teach them things about living with humans?

Because he is in recovery, Hagrid cannot live with small children who might accidentally bump into him.
However, young people who are old enough to understand canine language and respect this good old dog’s boundaries could benefit from his love of communication. In fact, he plays with stuffed animals like a puppy!

If you’re lucky enough to meet sweet Hagrid, you’ll find that his charm is simply impossible to resist. When he feels safe (usually within a minute!), this gentleman rolls onto his back and asks for cuddles as he squirms. He has a lot of love to give.
Do you want to help an older animal that really needs it? Open your heart and your home by becoming a foster family for Hagrid! And you will have every right to give in and take it…
