Larian Studios is not resting. Swen Vincke, the director of Baldur’s Gate 3, said something similar. As PCGamesN reports, the creator revealed that he is already “busy” with his new project. Of course, he explained that BG3 is not finished yet, as they are still working on improvements based on community feedback and their own impressions.
Larian Studios already has a new project on the table
As he revealed in an interview for the Dungeons and Dragons YouTube channel, when a team completes a very large task, they face a kind of “black hole” where the future is as uncertain as it is. It’s full of hope. You work on a project for so long that at the end you find yourself at the edge of the abyss and ask yourself: “What next?” “That’s why you have to take time for yourself,” he explains right away, “before you look to the future.”
“When you get to this point you’re already thinking about the next step, so there are a lot of things already moving in that direction,” he continued. Overall, he seemed to briefly avoid the question so far, but he was very clear in the following statements: “I’m busy with our next game“.
Vincke therefore confirmed that Larian Studios will offer us something new, but we should not expect it to happen immediately – especially since Baldur’s Gate 3 took 6 years to develop. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect their new game to come out any time soon, but it’s good to know that they already have something new in mind.
What’s next for Baldur’s Gate 3?
If many are already dreaming of DLC, we still have to be very patient. The game has just been released and adding additional content, whether free or paid, is not on the agenda.
