Today we, the leaders of the United States, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union, announced a memorandum of understanding in which we commit to working together on the To work on developing a new economic corridor between India, the Middle East and Europe. Announced at the G20 leaders’ event on the Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership, this landmark corridor aims to boost economic development through enhanced connectivity and economic integration across two continents, enabling sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
With the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, we aim to usher in a new era of connectivity with a railway connecting Europe, the Middle East and Asia via ports. The United States and our partners intend to connect both continents with trade centers and facilitate the development and export of clean energy; Lay undersea cables and connect energy networks and telecommunications lines to improve reliable access to electricity; Enable innovation in advanced clean energy technology. and connect communities with a secure and stable internet. On the other side of the corridor, we plan to boost existing trade and manufacturing and strengthen food security and supply chains. Our approach aims to mobilize new investment from partners, including the private sector, and drive quality job creation.
