The CMA calls on “all residents of Azawad to take to the field to contribute to the war effort with the aim of defending and protecting the homeland and thereby regaining control of their entire territory.”
The statement reiterates that the “Azawadi National Army” has “prepared short- and long-term resistance strategies.” The northern movements also encourage civilians to stay away from positions of the armed forces – the Fama – and Wagner.
The CMA released its statement through its Military Affairs Information and Communications Unit. A cell was created to, she said, “avoid any confusion” with “other external actors.”
A communications battle is underway with the Malian government, which accuses it of deliberately confusing them with terrorist groups.
