Actress Lynda Johnson is a mother of three children – Édouard, 20, Mathilde, 20, and Simone, 15 – and had no trouble finding the right emotions to portray the role in the opening of Judicial’s second season to play with a grieving mother every day Untenable.
Her character, Lucie Gendron, the wife of the police officer played by Guy Jodoin, plunges into a nightmare when her son Nico (Anthony Parent-Castanha) is accidentally shot by investigator Maxime Dubois (Mathieu Baron). “You don’t have to have children to play a grieving mother, but it helps to project yourself and put yourself in the character’s shoes – the famous ‘what if, so if it happened to my child’ – the answer is “Yes.” It’s definitely inspiring.”
Luckily, his acting partner Guy Jodoin knew how to relax the atmosphere between the more dramatic shots.
“We will support the legal process surrounding the loss of our boy. “The writers focused more on justice and how it unfolds,” she added, saying she had “more emotional scenes” to defend.
30 year career
The year 2024 marks the 30-year career of Lynda Johnson, who began acting in the soap opera 4 and a Half in 1994, barely two weeks after receiving her acting diploma from the National Theater School of Canada.
“I was still at school when I auditioned for 4 and a Half in March 1994. The soap opera ran for seven years and it was an extraordinary school, also a family. It shaped me, it is my foundation. “Writers Sylvie Lussier and Pierre Poirier are my TV parents,” said Lynda Johnson, who found her script in “The Inn of the Black Dog” and in “5e Rank,” whose fifth season sees her return to the role of investigator Isabelle Perreault.
Because her children are older, Lynda Johnson finds “a joy in playing that is mixed with a calmness, something more serene.” She says she is “grateful” for all the people she met over the course of the projects. “I look forward to the next few years with a lot of calm and happiness.”
The veteran actress – who doesn’t remember Rumeurs? – is currently filming the second season of À Coeur Battant with André Robitaille.
