Former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams died Tuesday morning after suffering a horrific accident while working at a construction site.
It was reported that Williams, 36, was doing electrical work when the fatal accident occurred.
His agent Hadley Engelhard confirmed Williams’ death via Twitter Ian Rapoport say, “We will miss him.” He fought hard all his life. Prayers to his family.’
The Syracuse college star, who played five years in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills, ended his football career in 2016.
His daughter’s mother, Tierney Lyle, said last Friday that Williams had been taken off life support and that he remained responsive at a Tampa hospital.

“We need prayer warriors to continue to pray and spread the word,” she told WIVB News 4.
“He’s tough on everything he does. “He doesn’t give up easily at all.”
According to WIVB News 4, two people close to Williams said he suffered the accident on August 21 and was not initially thought to be life-threatening.
Williams was reportedly hit in the head with a beam while doing electrical work, but the cut eventually became infected.
He was subsequently hospitalized on September 1 and later placed in a coma where he was placed on life support.
Further details of the accident were previously revealed on a GoFundMe page reportedly set up by Williams’ father, Wendell Muhammed.
The page was created to help Williams’ father, who lives in Dallas, Texas, travel to the hospital in Tampa Bay.
Williams’ father further explained that the ex-NFL star suffered from swelling in his brain and spinal cord as well as complete paralysis in his right arm and below the waist.

After the accident, Lyle added of her little daughter: “She’s crazy.” She cried so much yesterday and today. She’s just angry.
“That was daddy’s girl.” She’s a gymnast. A natural talent since she was about 4 years old. She was blessed with all these abilities.’
In his five-year NFL career, Williams recorded 223 receptions for 3,089 yards and 26 touchdowns.
He played in 63 career games over five seasons and was selected by the Bucs in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
The football player finished second to Sam Bradford, who played for the then-St. Louis Rams, for the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Williams started in all 16 games this season and scored 11 touchdowns and 964 receiving yards on 65 receptions, nine touchdowns and 996 yards in the 2012 season.
But his 2013 season was shortened by injuries and he was later traded from the Buccaneers to the Bills.
He played his final season with the Bills and later had a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs organization.
