Hunter Schafer has opened up about her battle with depression and dealing with her sudden fame at a young age.
The 24-year-old Euphoria star covered AnOther Magazine’s Fall/Winter 2023 issue in a series of daring and unusual outfits while being photographed and interviewed by artist Viviane Sassen.
She made a strong impression in a bizarre denim mini dress with pink sequins and a pillow attached to the front.
In one shot, Hunter floated in the air, dressed in a black dress with a voluminous skirt, while in another shot she donned a T-shirt and pants made of feathers.
The actress openly admitted to suffering from depression and added that she has learned to live with it.

She added that seeking help for this as a child acted as a “catalyst” for the start of her transition.
Hunter said: “I used to have really terrible problems with depression and stuff and I think a lot of it was because I was too much in my head.
“It’s something I really enjoy talking about.” I think that was one of the triggers for my transition, because as I approached puberty I really started to fade.
“And I think it became clear to the people around me. Luckily, that was enough to get the help I needed to start transitioning.”
She added: “I’ve struggled with depression. “It never really goes away. You just figure out how to live with it, how to live a life with it. And I’m on medication now, which is great.’
Hunter went on to discuss her childhood, admitting, “I didn’t have many friends before.” “It was hard to make friends and I was happy with that.”
She added: “I think maybe that’s why visual art used to work better for me because it’s so solitary and I loved that, that was my comfort zone.”
Hunter was originally a model before making her acting debut as transgender student Jules Vaughn on the HBO teen drama series Euphoria.

Speaking about her sudden rush to fame, she admitted that it was “scary” but that she has now learned to deal with her fame.
Hunter explained: “It was scary at first because it happened overnight.” I was 19 and even though I felt like an adult, I look back at myself and think, “You were a baby.” It was a difficult transition.
“But I also understand now that fame comes in waves. “I now know when to expect it and what places I can go where I don’t have to worry about looking put together or whatever.”
She admitted that she gets recognized all the time in America, but added: “It also depends on the age group I live in.”
She explained: “In Cologne, where I live, this almost never happens because there are older people in my area.” “For the most part, I can predict when I will be recognized.”
