The son of Faustao (Photo), Joao Guilherme Silvawas in Brasília this Tuesday (12) to speak with parliamentarians for the implementation of the concept suspected organ donor.
In short, any Brazilian would be considered a potential donor unless they objected.
“In other words, everyone is a donor until the person decides in fact, if he does not want to be a donor, he should express himself. Until the opposite, everyone is a donor,” explained João Guilherme Silva in a post on the social Media.
“We will try to change the history of Brazil and ensure that all the people standing in line today get an organ more quickly,” he added.
Between July and August, Faustão spent more than a month in the hospital undergoing a heart transplant.
Brazilian legislation today determines the consensual donation model. The family of the deceased or living person must agree to the removal of the organ for possible transplantation.
