A cameraman was assigned to film Taylor Swift for the entire duration of the film 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Swift, who sat front row at the event alongside her publicist Tree Paine and Ice Spice, was seen being continuously filmed by a cameraman by Variety on Tuesday night. No other artist is filmed in the same way.
Swift leads this year’s VMA nominations with eight nods, including Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. She’s already picked up two of the VMAs’ signature Moonman statues for best pop and best song of the year.
The singer-songwriter accepted the night’s first VMA for Best Pop from NSYNC, who reunited onstage at the ceremony at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
“I’m not comfortable going from this to the next [from being an NSYNC fan to accepting an award]said Swift. “I had yours, for example [NSYNC] Dolls!”
Swift then continued the group’s ongoing reunion teasers by saying, “Are you guys going to do something? I need to know what it is!”
Swift has a chance to set a new record for Video of the Year wins if she wins it for the fourth time by winning for “Anti-Hero,” which she directed. It’s a record she already holds: Swift became the first artist to ever win Video of the Year three times when she won the award last year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).”
