Blue Ridge Rock Festival responds to community outcry – WDBJ

ALTON, Va. (WDBJ) – The Blue Ridge Rock Festival has issued a statement amid community outcry.

The organizers issued a statement on Instagram on Tuesday;

“Thank you for your patience under these heartbreaking circumstances. There is a wealth of misinformation circulating which we will comprehensively address in due course. We see you and are working as quickly as possible to take care of you. This past weekend’s weather-related cancellation was a collective cancellation made by the event’s emergency management team, consisting of state and county officials and venue representatives. We are currently in detailed discussions with our ticketing company and our partners. We ask for your patience as we work to provide for you [a] Resolution.”

WDBJ7 has been following the festival and recently informed you about the stagehands’ strike due to poor working conditions.

Attendees claimed the cancellation of Saturday and Sunday’s events was not accurately presented.

Many attendees were disappointed with the experience, and the venue also suffered severe damage following Thursday’s storm.

Many concertgoers are still demanding refunds for the event.

WDBJ7 will provide an update as more information becomes available.
