For her part, Karol G made no secret of her pride at being with one of the artists she most admires: “If working with the legendary Shakira was impressive, receiving an award with her is something from another planet !” .

This is how the successful thing was cooked TQG

The text of this collaboration, as expected, united the two Colombians around a common theme: disappointment in love. Shakira, for her separation from Gerard Piqué in mid-2022, after twelve years of relationship; and Karol G for her separation from Puerto Rican Anuel AA, after three years of love in private jets, vacations in paradise destinations and even a marriage proposal. But they parted ways and in February 2021, the couple announced their separation.

The song begins with Karol G’s voice: “The one who told you that a void was filled with another person is lying to you. It’s like covering a wound with makeup, you can’t see it but you can feel it. You said you got over me and got yourself a new girlfriend. (…) Tell your new baby that I don’t compete for men…”

While the Barranquilla singer sings: “It hurt me to see you with the new girl (…) I forgot what we went through and that’s what offended you.” That even my life has improved. You are no longer welcome here and what your girlfriend threw at me doesn’t even make me mad, I laugh…”

According to Karol G, in an interview with The New York Times, she and Shakira had been planning a musical collaboration for years, but they hadn’t found the right song to make it happen.

When Karol G noticed Shakira speaking – and singing – openly about her split from Gerard Piqué and her love life, He wanted to offer the woman from Barranquilla a heartbreaking song in which “a lot of anger was released” and he wanted to include that in his new album.

Under the Universal Music label It will be nice tomorrow is the urban artist’s fourth studio album, who this year established herself as the first urban artist to conquer La Quinta de Vergara, the demanding stage of Viña del Mar, where the Colombian won the Golden Seagull.

In addition to Shakira, La Bichota’s latest album also includes collaborations with artists such as Romeo Santos, Sech, Quevedo, Bad Gyal & Sean Paul, Angel Dior & Justin Quiles, Sech, Carla Morrison, Maldy and Ovy On The Drums.
