Xi Jinping and Nicolás Maduro exchange compliments and strengthen their alliance

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro in Beijing. who has been on an official visit to the Asian country since September 8th last year.

According to a report by the EFE agency, both leaders agreed to elevate relations between their countries to a “strategic partnership against all odds.”

At a meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Xi expressed support for “Venezuela’s efforts to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, national dignity and social stability and resist foreign interference” and welcomed Maduro in his presence fifth visit to China since taking office in 2013which reflect “the brotherly friendship” between the two countries, according to the leader of the Asian country.

The Chinese President assured this China and Venezuela are “good friends and partners” that “they trust each other” and cooperate in various areas, recalling that next year will mark 50 years of the start of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Xi stated that China has always viewed the development of relations with Venezuela from a “strategic and long-term perspective”.“and that it is ready to work with Venezuela to “chart the course of future cooperation.”

For his part, Maduro pointed out that China has become a “great country committed to peace, development and the well-being of all humanity” and an “important engine for promoting the new world of multipolarity.”

The Venezuelan leader thanked “the Chinese government and people for their invaluable support and assistance at a time when the country suffered from the multiple difficulties caused by illegal unilateral sanctions and the Covid-19 epidemic.”

“Thanks to the help of the Chinese brothers, the Venezuelan people have passed the test and achieved exceptional success in national economic construction,” Maduro said.

The Venezuelan president also noted his country’s willingness to “learn from the Chinese experience in building special economic zones.”

The two leaders were present the signing of “several bilateral cooperation documents”. in the areas of economy and trade, education, tourism, science and technology, health, space and civil aviation,” the agency said.
