Which teams can you trust after the first two weeks of the season?
Trevor Matich and Roddy Jones give the teams they trust and don’t trust the most confidence after the first two weeks of the season.
Third-ranked Florida State will be without three starters for Saturday’s game against Boston College, sources told ESPN.
The Seminoles will play without two starters on offense, as left tackle Robert Scott Jr. and center Maurice Smith are both expected to miss their second straight game.
Safety Akeem Dent is also out after being injured last week against Southern Miss. He has started 32 career games for the Seminoles.
FSU enters the game as the clear favorite, but will also have to fight against the elements. Heavy winds and rain are expected in Chestnut Hill due to Hurricane Lee’s journey through the area. That could drastically change the game plan for the Seminoles, who come into the game with the fourth-best offense in the country.
FSU entered the season with more than 200 career starts among its offensive players, giving the Seminoles one of the deepest and most experienced units in the country. This will be tested again on Saturday.
Scott was injured in the opener against LSU and was replaced by Bless Harris, who would make his third start for the Seminoles. Darius Washington is expected to start again at center for Smith, and he has enough experience to start on FSU’s offensive line in his fifth season. This would be his third career start as a center player.
A Florida State win on Saturday would set up a showdown at Clemson next weekend. FSU has not beaten Clemson in its last seven tries.
