Kylie Minogue kicked off London Fashion Week with a bang on Friday as she hosted an exclusive VIP party to celebrate the release of her new album Tension.

The British Fashion Council and Kylie hosted a number of VIPs and creative talent for the official opening party of London Fashion Week, served by Diet Coke.

And the 55-year-old Padam singer looked nothing short of sensational as she donned a checked dress for her performance later in the evening.

She completed her look with a pair of leather boots and opaque stockings.

Kylie styled her hair into soft beachy waves and posed for the cameras as she gave all the VIP guests the performance of a lifetime.

The party was a huge success and kicked off London Fashion Week with a bang as many VIP guests were in attendance.

Talent in attendance included fashion designer Kyle De’volle, television presenter AJ Odudu, model Charli Howard, DJ Fat Tony, DJ Jodie Harsh, Jack Guinness, Miquita Oliver, Raven Smith, Caroline Rush, Henry Holland, Clara Paget and Daniel Fletcher, Zoe Zimmer , Melanie Blatt and Felicity Hayward.

The large group came together to celebrate the hottest moment in the fashion calendar at Lío London in Leicester Square.

And while Kylie put on a rousing performance, the group danced the night away to a specially curated, Kylie-inspired DJ set by DJ HAAi.

During the event, guests also had the opportunity to partake in a “Kylie-Oke” sing-along while custom cocktails and Diet Coke were served throughout the evening.

This comes after Kylie looked radiant as she arrived at the London Fashion Week opening party on Friday evening after admitting she feels “at home” in acting.

The singer wore a figure-hugging mesh dress with pink graphic swirls and a ruched seam down the middle.

It’s been a busy week for the actress, who also appeared on The One Show to talk about her new album Tension and announce a return to the big screen.

On the show Kylie, who will return to the screen with a television special which will highlight her legendary career on ITV, admitted that she still “loves acting”.

She explained: “I love acting, I love it when I get the opportunity to be on set.”

“I don’t do it that often, so it’s a good nose, but at the same time it makes me feel at home. That was my beginning and I have spent many years and years in front of television sets, so television and films love them.’

Speaking about her new album, Kylie revealed that she spent hours recording in her home studio.

She added: “A lot of it was in my studio, my little suitcase with all my gear that I learned in lockdown.” Amazing skill to finally have.

“Nightstands in hotel rooms, literally everywhere – if the vocals needed to be done, I’d set up my equipment.” I love it.

“I was recording one evening until I heard birds through the microphone – I thought, ‘What time is it? 5am ​​– turn it off.” And I’ll think? “I’ll just do another one, just do another one. I can totally commit to it.”
