The popular rapper Drake likes to bet money on various sporting events, but it often happens that his bets are unsuccessful.
The Canadian posted a photo on his Instagram account on Saturday of the rather large bet he made during the fight between Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya at UFC 293.
Drake had bet $500,000 that Adesanya would knock Strickland to the mat. However, the second-place finisher retained the upper hand over his opponent thanks to a unanimous decision from the judges. As a result, the musician was deprived of a sum of $920,000.
The Torontonian is considered a “curse” for the athletes and teams he supports. If he takes a photo with an athlete or makes a bet in support of an athlete or team, the athlete suffers a loss or does not meet expectations.
Among those who fell victim to the “curse” were Conor McGregor, Serena Williams and the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team.
