Marilyse Bourke is transforming on our screens this fall. The actress reprises her role as Crown prosecutor Untenablein addition to portraying a hyperviolent bipolar mother in After the flood and the wife of a biker guide in Warnings.

This fall she is also filming the second season of Nuit Blanche for Prime Vidéo and Séries Plus, a series that Radio-Canada abruptly canceled and in which she plays a businesswoman.

Immersing yourself in such contrasting worlds is a joy for every artist. The actress, who was discovered 30 years ago in the role of Maggie Malo in “Watatatow”, notes that these days “the ball rolls off the page”, although she knows her tools and how she works better when creating characters.

“I’m being offered much denser, dirtier roles, far removed from my usual cast. I feel completely ready to play anything and every time I learn new words a new dynamic is created and I feel new sensations in my body. Sometimes I say to myself: My God, I hope that one day I won’t feel like I’ve done everything, played everything! », she told the QMI agency.

In “Alerts,” Marilyse Bourke plays Sandra Berthelot, the wife of biker Black Bird Bouchard (Patrick Labbé), a man released from prison. It was Cindy (Éveline Gélinas) who had handcuffed him a few years earlier. Everyone on the station is worried that Black Bird wants revenge on Cindy, but the man and his partner will soon have other problems after a shocking tragedy.

“Sandra doesn’t let anything dictate her, this environment turns her on. She likes danger and even calls it out in one scene, saying that she has always been attracted to men of power. She lives in a beautiful house, she has money and is protected by her boyfriend. But when his life falls apart in the first episode, all that protection turns into complete isolation. She can no longer ask for help, no longer rely on herself, her life consists of being with her boyfriend, for whom everything boils down to weapons and revenge. She will feel extremely isolated. »

In After the Flood, the actress transforms into a narcissistic, bipolar and alcoholic mother, a woman capable of untold violence towards her biracial daughter Dylane (Blanche Masse). She also has a son, Jimmy (Karl Walcott), who tries to curb her destructive zeal. The actress had to film strong and difficult scenes, like the one where she beats her daughter with a wooden spoon.

As for the daily Indefensible, her character, Crown Prosecutor Sonia Cadet, returns in various trials in this second season. “This season I’ll be arguing a lot against Me Lapointe, Michel Laperrière’s character. We address the mutual respect between the Crown and Defense; We have seen out-of-court settlements less often, it is as if they are sometimes getting closer, even if they remain two different worlds and two visions of justice. »

“Indefensible” airs Monday through Thursday on TVA, a channel that will also offer Alerts on Mondays at 9 p.m. starting September 18. As for After the Flood, it takes place every Thursday at 9pm in Noovo.
