With the transition to calendar autumn, the weather will change. The equinox occurs this Saturday, September 23rd. The temperatures will have dropped significantly, but clearing may be necessary for the weekend.

L’Autumnal Equinox 2023 will take place this year on Saturday, September 23rd. Temperatures will have dropped significantly and will even be slightly below normal. On the other hand, if you wait for the high tide, it will be delayed by a week compared to the equinox, at the end of the month. Finally you will probably be able to enjoy beautiful hours of sunshine.

A Saturday that is still partly unstable and cool

On Saturday, instability could still affect the eastern flank of the country and our mountains following Friday’s unrest. The evacuation may be quicker, but until the situation is reliable, expect showers in the east, coolness in the mountains and a few snowflakes from 1800 m. The wind blows from the southeast and clears the sky. Finally, in the west, clearings could be necessary if the wind is light and the feeling is good.

The temperatures would hardly be seasonal, with 17 to 19 °C in the afternoon in the northern half and 18 to 24 °C in the south.

Sunday: A beautiful day ahead?

A high pressure area will form again over France, which should then mark the end of September. However, it could mean weakness in the northwest with isolated rainfall in Brittany, Pays de la Loire and Lower Normandy, but the progression of this disturbance may be slowed.

It could be sunny somewhere else. The morning would then be cool, with temperatures dropping to 4 to 5°C in the country, with some patches of fog. It smells like autumn. But in the afternoon it should be very mild, around 20 to 23°C, with light winds and good sunshine. Note that the Mistral should remain in the southeast.
