“What we don’t tell you is that this can impact the entire buying process,” says real estate agent and content creator Alexis Lohse (@varealestateagent).

“I have seen people unable to buy their dream home because solar panels were installed on the property,” she says.

According to her, we often hear convinced people claim that the panels are easily transferable, but the reality is very different, she claims.

“The buyer must go through the entire credit process again, requesting their credit report and ensuring they are approved for the loan. The same steps as buying a house, but with solar panels,” she says.

“This could result in you not being approved for the construction loan” if you take on debt for the solar panels.

“Another concern with solar panels is that you usually have to pay back the loan in full when you sell your home. This means you will have less money in your pocket when you sell. »

“Solar panels do not increase the value of your property,” she concludes.
